Overview
This course will equip students with a basic knowledge to plan and produce an irrigation design from base climatic and crop information, utilising IRRICAD hydraulic software. Students will be led through the layout and hydraulic design processes. IRRICAD operational commands and database product management will also be addressed to ensure the design is accurate. Plan finalisation and professional finishes form the final part of this industryrelevant course. Drip Irrigation and Sprinkler Irrigation designs will be central to the training program. You must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Irrigation system design/ hydraulics. Students will be required to use the IRRICAD Software. This can be sourced through your own IRRICAD Dongle or by using a temporary IRRICAD Licence through Irrigation Australia.
Learning outcomes
- The ability to plan and design irrigation systems for any environment, using IrriCAD Software
- Knowledge of advanced irrigation system design and principles
- An understanding of water supply volume and multi-valve operational calculations
- The ability to select large irrigation components and the knowledge to analyse and size piping
- The ability to measure water supply in Urban & commercial environments
- The knowledge to develop material lists and costing

COURSE PROGRAM & DURATION:
This course is delivered over 5 half day virtual classroom sessions 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM AEST (Brisbane Time)
Participants will be required to use the IRRICAD Software. This can be sourced through their own IRRICAD Dongle or by using a temporary IRRICAD Licence through Irrigation Australia (see Course Fees for details).MODE OF DELIVERY: Virtual Classroom
RESOURCES: Resources will be sent to the participant via email before the commencement of the course
TO COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE TRAINING YOU NEED ACCESS TO:
- Zoom – use one of the links above to open the Zoom website. You will be required to download the program and register an Account (you will be required to create an account to access our sessions). This will take you roughly 5 minutes to do.
- Two (2) monitor screens (one for Zoom, one for IRRICAD)
- Access to a printer or scanner to submit completed assessments (consider downloading a scanner app on your phone)
- Web Browser: Windows 7 or above to access webinar technology and latest and previous versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome
- Webcam and/or headset for joining the virtual classroom
- Plug-ins: Adobe Flash Player 9 is required
- Network connection: Minimum 512 kbps connection is required
- Firewall: If you have a firewall or a domain filtering program, access to the domains listed below needs to be granted
