The Certificate III in Irrigation Technology AHC32419 reflects the skills and knowledge required to become an irrigation installer, operator, retailer or technician for residential, commercial or agriculture industries.

Students who have previously obtained the Certificate III in Irrigation AHC32416 or equivalent qualification may be eligible to upgrade to the new qualification. Our training covers the additional units of competency that make up the necessary 22 units in the nationally recognised Certificate III in Irrigation Technology AHC32419 (Trade Level Qualification – Irrigation Technician).

Students will be required to attend training (online and face-to-face) and complete additional assessments which consist of workplace assessments, assignments, multiple choice and short answer questions.

How to Study & Course Intakes

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students must have already achieved Certificate III in Irrigation AHC32416 or equivalent qualification and have standard Language, Literacy and numeracy skills. Students will be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment at Certificate III level.

COURSE DURATION: The full qualification can be completed within 12 months from enrolment

This course must be completed within 12 months from enrolment. Students who fail to complete the course within this timeframe and wish to continue will be charged a re-enrolment fee as per Page 15 of the Irrigation Australia Student Handbook V3.0 March 2020.


Virtual Classroom | Face to Face | Online Post-Course Assessments


  • Block 1: 9 x 4 hour Virtual Classroom Sessions*
  • Block 2: 5 Days Face-to-Face
*Virtual Classroom Sessions will be delivered in 3 consecutive sessions per week Virtual Classroom sessions run from 9.30 AM to 1:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM AEST(Brisbane Time). This timetable may change depending on the location of students. Face-to-Face Block training will run from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (local time). Note: this course program and duration is based on the completion of an Irrigation Australia Certificate III in Irrigation qualification prior. RESOURCES: Resources will be posted to the student prior to the course


  • Zoom – use one of the links above to open the Zoom website. You will be required to download the program and register an Account (you will be required to create an account to access our sessions). This will take you roughly 5 minutes to do.
  • Access to a printer or scanner to submit completed assessments (consider downloading a scanner app on your phone)
  • Web Browser: Windows 7 or above to access webinar technology and latest and previous versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome
  • Webcam and/or headset for joining the virtual classroom
  • Plug-ins: Adobe Flash Player 9 is required
  • Network connection: Minimum 512 kbps connection is required
  • Firewall: If you have a firewall or a domain filtering program, access to the domains listed below needs to be granted
