COURSE OVERVIEW

Our custom designed Certificate III in Irrigation School designed for industry, and facilitated by Irrigation Australia, providing an in-depth irrigation training program which is assessed against nationally recognised Competencies towards a Certificate III in Irrigation. This program will be presented by highly experienced and qualified professionals who are actively working in leading organisations of the industry. The program also engages subject matter experts for specialised topics such as hydraulics, troubleshooting and basic irrigation design, to name a few.

This qualification reflects the skills and knowledge required to become a sales, installation or operation technician within the irrigation industry. It applies to skilled workers who carry out sales, installation and operations job roles in the irrigation servicing, horticulture and agriculture industries.

This course will be delivered in a blended learning format from which, at the successful completion, students are awarded the Nationally Accredited Qualification "Certificate III in Irrigation - AHC32416".

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR

This course is designed for anyone with a minimum of three (3) months experience working in the irrigation industry who is looking at enriching their knowledge and expertise with the latest innovations and most advanced irrigation techniques.


UNITS OF COMPETENCY

By undertaking additional activities and assignments, participants are able to obtain Statements of Attainment for the following 14 units towards a Certificate III in irrigation:

 

Two (2) Compulsory Competencies - 

  • AHCIRG308 Monitor soils under irrigation
  • AHCWHS301 Contribute to work health and safety processes

 

Twelve (12) Competencies over the seven (7) days training

  • AHCIRG306 Troubleshoot irrigation systems
  • AHCIRG309 Install irrigation pumps
  • AHCIRG315 Interpret irrigation plans and drawings
  • AHCIRG325 Operate irrigation technology
  • AHCIRG327 Implement an irrigation schedule
  • AHCIRG331 Install pressurised irrigation systems
  • AHCIRG332 Operate pressurised irrigation systems
  • AHCIRG333 Maintain pressurised irrigation systems
  • AHCINF304 Install and terminate extra low voltage wiring systems
  • AHCIRG303 Measure irrigation delivery system performance
  • AHCMER304 Recommend irrigation products and services
  • MEM12024A Perform computations

The School covers all 14 units that make up the necessary packaging requirements from ASQA for the nationally recognised AHC32416 - Certificate III in Irrigation. Along with course attendance and learning, there are take home assignments and questions that need to be completed for each unit to show volume of learning. The full qualification is to be completed within 12 months of enrolment.
